Your Legacy Will Support Veterans for Years to Come
Ken, a local Army veteran, recently called VGH to make a generous gift. When thinking about making a gift, many often imagine writing a check or swiping a credit card, but there are many impactful ways to give. Ken went the extra mile, choosing VGH as the beneficiary of all his assets from his lovely home to his private accounts. Having received care at the Reno VA for over two decades, Ken’s gift will ensure that other veterans have access to the same compassionate services for years to come. He shared,
“When my sister passed, I was overwhelmed by the red tape. I wanted to simplify matters for myself. Making a planned gift with VGH helped me breathe easier and gave me peace of mind knowing I will support fellow veterans in their time of need.”
Planned gifts are typically made from assets such as securities, real estate, retirement funds, insurance policies, or investment accounts. In many cases, it can be as simple as adding a few sentences to your will or changing the beneficiary for your IRA or insurance policy. These charitable requests come at no cost now and empower you to make a meaningful contribution in the future.
Ken is not the only one to make a difference in this way. Diane Rose generously left her house to VGH, and this thoughtful gift will be used to house veteran families when VGH hits capacity. Your gifts, of any size and any kind, ensure that no veteran is turned away when facing adversity. To make a planned gift, contact Patrice Klaich, Donor Relations Manager, at patrice@veteransguesthouse.org or call (775) 324-6958 ext. 14.

Ken’s healthcare journey inspired him to give back to fellow veterans by leaving VGH as the beneficiary of his assets. Thank you, Ken, for supporting veteran families in need!
