Laughter and chatter echo throughout the halls of VGH as guests bond over morning coffee and breakfast treats to get their day off to a nourished start. With record-breaking occupancy, our cupboards quickly became bare and our supply of non-perishable foods dwindled. But when we asked for help, you responded with extraordinary generosity. Your support filled our shelves and our hearts with gratitude.
In the past two weeks alone, you have donated a total of 24 boxes of cereals, 287 boxes of mac and cheese, 50 cases of water, and counting. Your support goes beyond making our guests feel at home—it’s vital to their well-being. Many older veterans are unable to shop for or prepare meals, and those undergoing intensive treatment often need to eat, even when they aren’t hungry. Thanks to you, they have access to plentiful meals and comforting snacks throughout the day.

When you give to VGH, you’re providing more than just a meal—you’re giving veterans the strength they need to battle a variety of difficult health issues.
Your generosity is especially impactful for rural veterans who struggle to find fresh, affordable food. And your kindness extends beyond their stay with us. By donating items, gift cards, and meals, you create a warm, at-home atmosphere for veterans and their families. Your thoughtful food donations bring comfort, while gift cards allow veterans’ families to enjoy fresh produce or celebrate with a holiday meal of their choice.

“Thanks to each and every one of you, my husband had the support he needed without question. We never have to worry about where we will stay or what we will eat. I can only hope that those donating know they are making a huge difference.”
